The new Iron Woody Bar is the best value for your money when you
are looking for a quality barbell that will last
you for years. Why? Here are some of the reasons:
True 28mm
bars: The Iron WoodyBars are a true 28mm.
Most other bars selling as "Olympic lifting
bars" use thicker steal to reduce the
cost of machining. (A thicker shaft allows
for the use of inferior grade steel.)
Meets IWF specifications:The
bars conform to IWF specs in that they are "true
28mm bars." This is the spec that
is usually missed by other bars.
Designed for durability : The
sleeves attach via a snap ring like the more
expensive Eleiko or Werksan bars, and NOT with
an end bolt which is normal for the more cheaply
constructed bars. (End bolts are fine if
a bar is going to be used for bench pressing
and never or rarely dropped. But an end bolt
will NOT hold up to being dropped or used in
a manner consistent with doing cleans or snatches.)
Bushing design:
The bars have
six total inches of bushing, using cast-brass
bushing instead of cheaper oil-impregnated brass. The
use of high quality machine work and high quality
cast brass bushings gives the bar a spin usually
associated with needle bearings.
The unique design of our sleeve and bushings
means that regardless of direction the
sleeve is being pulled or pushed, there
is no steel-on-steel contact. This design feature
give the bars a uniform spin in all phases of
the lift.
Comfortable knurling:
The knurling pattern on the bars was designed
by actual high-level weightlifters (see below). Many
knurling patterns were tried and discarded after
being used by the lifters in testing. The knurling
pattern eventually selected was agreed to be
the best knurling they had ever used.
Professional feel:
The bars have "whip" and
spin which provide excellent feel while doing
Olympic lifts. In fact they feel like you are
using a $700+ competition bar. Numerous
athletes who are experienced enough to know what
a good bar feels like
Quality and durability
at an affordable price: Our bars offer the same feel as competition
bars costing twice as much.

Rust resistant: Bars are made resistant to rust and discoloration
by using chromes sleeves and collars.

Our bars have color coded end caps, to offer
easy differentiation as to what bar you are using. Color
codes conform to the colors of competition bumper
plates.
